Spyware attacks in all forms, sizes and shapes and infects millions of users a day that don’t take the right precautions. There is no one program that will be able to defend and protect you from all of the threats, thats why I have made a collection of freeware applications that will in one way or another help you in your fight against spyware.Spyware is the worst threat to internet users, apart from harming your computer it can steal information (credit cards, passwords) and send it to cyber delinquents who wont think it twice before using that information against you.

» Ad-Aware SE: Ad Aware is the most popular free spyware scanner available, it scans your registry, hard drive, removable and optical drives for known data-mining, aggressive advertising, and tracking components.

» Spybot Search & Destroy: This wonderful program not only removes certain advertising components, detects other keylogging and spy utilities…it also securely removes PC and Internet usage tracks, including browser history, temporary pages, cookies (with option to keep selected) and more.Switching to advance mode will give you new features like the ’system startup’ which lets you select and manage what programs start up with your computer.

» SpywareBlaster: Spyware Blaster doesn’t scan or remove any malware, but it prevents it from being installed in the first place. It disables the CLSIDs of popular spyware ActiveX controls allowing you to safely browse with Active X enabled.

» a-squared Free: a-squared is not a great malware scanning tool, but considering its huge definition database it’s a great scanning utility to have as a secondary defence in conjunction with Spybot and Ad-Aware.

» Spyware Terminator: Spyware Terminator protects you from spyware, adware, Trojans, keyloggers, home page hijackers and other malware threats.Ad-Aware,Spybot & a-squared should already do the trick but none of them offer real-time protection like Spyware Terminator. Having real time protection will allow you to immediately know if a threat is trying to log itself onto your system.

» Windows Defender: Windows Defender includes a variety of security agents that act as bodyguards to protect areas of your system that are commonly used by malware to hijack your settings, add menu items, change your home page, and much more.It has real-time protection against all these threats and is quite lite in memory usage, it doesn’t hurt to have it just in case.

All of the above applications must be used in order to stay completely immune against all major threats, please don’t forget to regularly update them and do a scan with each one atleast once a week.

Hello!, Matthew is awesomely cool with tons of knowledge and lots of experience in blah blah blah ...he doesn't like writing about himself cause it always seems to come out sounding self-centered, instead he will write this in a third person which most authors do anyway...perhaps it's because it makes us sound important cause it gives the illusion someone (non biased) thinks so highly of us they took some time off their own to write this :).Read more about me here...
