How To: Bypass RapidShare Restrictions

Rapidshare is a wonderful and very helpful site to upload and host large quantities of files that could not be hosted anywhere else for free (except maybe MegaUpload), the only problem is having to wait through all the restrictions.The other day I was downloading maps for BF2, and all the maps were hosted on rapidshare, it was so frustrating having to wait through the 45 seconds to be told I had already downloaded some files and had to wait for an hour before downloading again :S, so I decided to bypass those restrictions and share the tips with you guys.

BYPASS DOWNLOAD LIMIT:

RapidShare limits free users, based on their IP address, with a certain download limit, once you reach that limit, your IP is blocked for a few hours.The way to get passed this is by changing or masking (hiding) your IP address, and deleting your cookies (they store a cookie in them for additional security).

There’s quite a few ways to change your IP address, but lets just do a couple of simple ones.Before you do it, I want you to check your IP address before and after the tutorial so you can know if it worked.Go to IP-Adress.com.

Requesting new IP address from ISP (dynamic IP addresses only)

1. Click Start -> Run.

2. Type cmd in the Open box, then click OK.

3. At the command prompt, run the following commands one by one:

ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
exit

4. Clear your browser’s cookies with CCleaner.

5. Check to see if you have a new IP at IP-Adress.com.

6. Try to download from RapidShare again.

TIP:Some ISP’s don’t give you a new IP when you run the above commands, mine for example, so a simple trick is to just turn off your modem and turn it back on.This will give you a new IP address.

NOTE: For Linux,Unix operating system users, it’s possible to put all the commands above into a batch file and simply run the batch file to complete the IP changing process.To create the batch file, open a word editor and copy and paste the above commands into the editor, then save the file with extension of .bat .

Using a proxy server.

You can mask your real IP with a proxy server, it is quite easy to do and helpful in many different cases.In a future tutorial I will explain how to do it manually in each browser but for now I will show you how to do it in Firefox (which if your smart,you must already have).Go and download the SwitchProxy addon, once thats installed you can go to AtomInterSoft.com to find some fresh working proxies.

NOTE: I will write a simple tutorial on how to use proxies and SwitchProxy for those newbie users, the rest of you should be fine for now.
