How To: Know When Someone Is Going To Die
I bet you didn’t see that title coming huh? This probably should be classified as a myth since I do not have sufficient evidence to back it up but, back when I stayed in the northern parts of India I observed a few hindu monks who use to enter the houses of people who were ill or old and after a while you’d eather hear the sound of laughter and relief or a deadly silence followed by a loud cry. I of course couldn’t help but feed my curiosity with some information, so I followed them for a while till I discovered a remarkable thing, they could predict when someone was going to die.
I got a translator to ask them to tell me, but as you would imagen they were reluctant to say. Later in my trip I met the daughter of a similar type of monk who unveiled the secret to me.It is believed that six months before a person dies of an illness or from elderness, a muscular phenomenon starts to occur.The muscles in your eyes known as extraocular muscles specifically the one that roles your eyes upwards called superior rectus muscle, starts to get tense.
If you were an ill person or had a respectable age, you had to wait for three months or so till these monks came to your village and test you to see if you were dying, the test was quite simple, they would make you cross your eyes and look at the tip of your nose.If you could see the tip of your nose, it meant you were fine BUT if you couldn’t see it, it meant you were dying.
The logic for it is quite simple, around 6 months before you die of natural causes (illness included), your body already knowns whats going to happen so it starts tensing your superior rectus muscle to prepare it for its death.I guess thats where the movie stereotype image of dead people with their eyes rolled upwards comes from.
I know it’s a bit unusual from my normal computer/internet related guides and I must admit its a bit macabre but I thought I should share this cool story as some of you will enjoy it = ) .
TIPS: Don’t forget to check the tip of your nose every morning, you never know…
