How To:Use Macromedia Shockwave In Vista x64

Are you having troubles installing Macromedia Shockwave into your new Microsoft Windows Vista 64bit operating system? A couple of days ago I tried to install it and got an error message that forced me to cancel the installation, after as while of investigating why I remembered it tries to install into the SysWOW64 folder in the windows directory. The solution is simple:

1. Go to: Local Disk:\Windows\SysWOW64\ right click on the Macromed folder and select Cut.

2. Go to: Local Disk:\Windows\ right click on the System32 folder and select Paste.

3. After you have successfully pasted the Macromed folder, try to reinstall the Macromedia Shockwave setup.

NOTE: Some people report that the installation was successful but anything that uses Shockwave to display becomes very slow.If this happens to you try to reinstall it.

Others report that by pasting the file into the System32 folder they have overwritten some files used by Macromedia Flash, just reinstall Flash.

Hello!, Matthew is awesomely cool with tons of knowledge and lots of experience in blah blah blah ...he doesn't like writing about himself cause it always seems to come out sounding self-centered, instead he will write this in a third person which most authors do anyway...perhaps it's because it makes us sound important cause it gives the illusion someone (non biased) thinks so highly of us they took some time off their own to write this :).Read more about me here...
