I tryed to update to bitcomet 1.70 from 0.70 and my d/l speed went from 500kbs to about 80, and im talking about files with over 160 connected seeds.I got so pissed cause it took me 2 day and a down grade to .80 to get my speed bk up to 440kbs with 178 connected seeders. I took the settings on this page except for a few diff. ones- 1.global max d/l rate -50 and2- max conn. per task 250, like i said i got my speed back up somewhat to par. I hope this helps. P.S heres my connection speed-Download Speed: 16,000 kbps (1996 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 2796 kbps (349.5 KB/sec transfer

Really, I've learned that all you have to do is turn on the long-time seeding option (I forget what option that's under). I guess the idea is... if you're set up to seed later, it will let you download faster now. Find it and try it.

You can still delete tasks from BitComet's queue as soon as they're finished. The program just needs to be set to automatically seed when the download is complete.

(This may not be the trick, but it seemed to be the change that sped things up for me.)

I think some of these settings may be outdated with the current versions, I'll work on a new settings configuration post as soon as I can.
