Ok, I found out the solution.

1. The patch allows you to browse websites or do other internet stuff faster.

2. The patch is not really necessary to increase speed: You can increase number of half open connections in the Utorrent itself in the preferences/Advanced area.

3. Go to Utorrent forum for a better explanation….

I believe one of your firewalls or routers is slowing your speed down…to get a static IP you must contact your ISP and request for one :).

Hi, I’m using Level one fbr-1161 router modem but my i do not have a fixed ip (using DHCP). i turned the firewall off but using Online Armour which I set the TCP In & UDP In port to allow my utorrent port 45682 but I still don’t get a green light for the connection from utorrent. However, i do see activity in terms of the nodes & also the down speed & up speed. any idea what went wrong?

According to the port forward web site configuration of the level one fbr-1161 modem router, i need to have static ip. how do i go about it?

thanx sir…i tried disabling firewall…it dint have any drastic effect…but now the downloading speed is around 40 to 50 kbps…

these utorrent settings work on most major isp’s and should be working with yours, have you guys tried disabling your firewall? and patching the TCPIP.sys file?

I started having similar problems after a while using torrent and discovered downloading through rapidshare type sites was much more faster and safer, I’ll write a tutorial on that soon.

ok im downloading a 3.4g file and ive got 4(55) seeds? and its going at 3.4kb/sex and i did what the guide said? nothing happened? its still going at the same speed? someone help me please?
