A question: I've done the tweaks you suggest to streamline my utorrent experience. However, I've just downloaded newest version and two things appear to have happened. First, after entering a title in search bar and pressing say, Pirate Bay, it takes minutes, I mean minutes to open new utorrent search window. Used to just immediately open new window with search results from torrent client I'd selected (Mininova, PB, isohunt). So, what's up with this?
Second, checking to see if my tweaks were still in place, I find the "Associate with magnet URIs" bar pressed and the "Associate with .Torrent files" unpressed. I cannot seem to alter this. So, solutions? Thanks a lot for the information you have provided. Most helpful.

yeah haha I'll have to edit it, but basically seeds are the amount of people connected to the torrent that are allowing you to download the file from them or upload seeds (leechers as some call them) are the amount of people downloading it.

@Adel
You need to setup port-forwarding on your router. Forward the connection port of bitcomet or whatever client (will find this port in options/preferences), to the internal ip of your pc.... so if your port is 35233 and internal ip is 192.168.1.100, forward port 35233 to 192.168.1.100.

Note: Usually routers use DHCP and give you a new Internal IP when you reconnect to the router. Use windows tcp-ip settings to manually configure the IP...
You can use the following (default) settings:
IP: 192.168.1. 99 (to avoid interference with DHCP ips),
Default gateway: usually 192.168.1.1 (this is your router's address), subnet mask: 255.255.255.0, and finally
DNS1: 208.67.222.222 (DNS by opendns servers)
DNS2: 208.67.220.220 (DNS by opendns servers)
